Waldecks Cockburn

A trip to the new Waldecks Cockburn Central Garden Centre to celebrate her birthday and spruce up the garden for spring resulted in Kym Maloney winning the Yates Vegetable Garden Competition. Mrs Maloney won $500 worth of Yates product which included vegetable seeds, a Yates Garden Guide, seed raising mixture and a self-watering trough.

"The great thing is that we were planning on setting up a new vegetable garden with our three young children so this prize has come at a great time" said Mrs Maloney.
"Planting vegetables is such a great activity to do with children. They seem to eat more vegetables when they've helped plant, water them and watched them grow. Our son Dylan really misses the old vegetable patch we used to have that is now the site of our new shed. He is so excited that we will now be having a new vegetable garden."

Mrs Maloney also nominated her son's school Beeliar Primary to be awarded the joint prize. Mrs Pam Pollard and Dylan Maloney accepted $500 worth of Yates product on behalf of Beeliar Primary School.

"The Early Learning Centre at Beeliar Primary School has raised garden beds so the teachers and children will love this prize" said Mrs Pollard.

Dylan is looking forward to planting the seeds and helping them grow at home and at school.
