Australian Tree Fern - Cyathea Cooperii

Sale price$69.99

Commonly known as the Australian Tree Fern, this east coast native immediately gives an otherworldly feel in the garden. It has a slender trunk that supports a magnificent crown of long arching lacy fronds that are particularly attractive. Ideal for shady gardens and ferneries, they are tolerant of morning sun only, and prefer a protected shady or dappled spot. If grown in sunnier spots ensure regular frequent watering during warmer months and deep soaks during heatwaves. These tree ferns are also cold tolerant and require very little maintenance once established. Use a high quality mulch to ensure soils are kept moist, and nutrients are provided to the shallow root system. For enhanced growth we recommend using Troforte M Indoor & Patio Slow Release fertiliser at half the recommended application rate. Australian Tree Ferns reach approximately 6m height and 3m width.

Water: Water well and often when freshly planted and during growing season and hotter periods. Use a chunky mulch, we recommend using Aussie Organics Chunky Pine Bark.

Sun: Full shade to part shade or dappled.

Soil: Fertile, well-draining soil enriched with organic matter. We recommend using Aussie Organics Premium Soil Conditioner and Charlie Charcoal prior to planting.
