Diploglottis Campbellii - Small Leaf Tamarind
The small-leaved Tamarind is a small to medium tree that produces large red-orange fruits with a delicious, tangy pulp. Small, cream-brown flowers appear in November to January, turning to large (up to 6cm across) yellow-brown skinned fruit in February and April, with the hard skin splitting open when ripe. This plant is a prolific fruiter, capable of bearing many kilos in a harvest. Simply wait for the fruit to split before plucking off the tree. Suitable as a small shade tree in the garden or in pots with regular pruning and care. Can also be utilised for screening in protected shady areas. For enhanced growth and fruiting we recommend using Troforte M Fruit & Citrus Slow Release fertiliser in early spring. Small-leaved Tamarind will grow to reach 7-10m height and 6-8m width.
Water: Water well and often when freshly planted and during warmer seasons. Use a chunky mulch, we recommend using Aussie Organics Chunky Pine Bark.
