Juniperus Communis - Juniperberry
The common juniper of juniperberry, this beautiful conifer is well known as the key ingredient in gin. An elegant upright shrub with spiky grey-blue needle-like foliage, forming a neat cone. Thriving in full sun to part shade, protection from afternoon sun is recommended. Berries can take up to three years to ripen. Suitable for hedging, hardy and low maintenance, and drought tolerant once established. Juniperus Conferta grows to 4m height and 1.5m width.
Water: Water well and often when freshly planted. Drought tolerant once established. Use a chunky mulch, we recommend using Aussie Organics Chunky Pine Bark.
Sun: Full sun, part sun tolerant.
Soil: Sandy, free draining soils making it well suited to the Perth environment. We recommend using Charlie Charcoal prior to planting for best results.
