Lomandra Tanika

An Australian native genus of tough, strappy-leaved perennials that has become one of the most widely used plants in contemporary Perth landscaping. Lomandra handles the full range of WA conditions - sandy coastal soils, full sun, hard frosts, periods of drought - and the modern compact cultivars are tidy, well-behaved plants suitable for borders, mass planting, erosion control, and formal garden settings. Full sun to part shade. Adaptable to most soils including sandy Perth soils. Drought tolerant once established. Low fertiliser needs. Cut back hard every 2-3 years if clumps become tatty.
