Snake Vine - Hibbertia Scandens
Snake Vine is an eastern Australian native climber producing bright, pure yellow flowers - large for a Hibbertia, around 3-4cm across - from late winter through summer on vigorous, twining stems. The common name comes from the way the stems snake and scramble across any surface they can find: fences, trellises, shrubs, banks. It is one of the more vigorous native climbers, capable of covering a large fence section in a season, and one of the most free-flowering, producing yellow blooms across the entire plant over many months. Full sun to part shade. Well-drained soil. Phosphorus-free fertiliser. Drought tolerant once established. Tip-prune to control spread.
