Pot Size Guide

Our plants are sold by the pot they are grown in. This guide shows every pot, bag and hanging basket our plants come in, drawn to the same scale, so you can see what each size means.

Pot size and plant size

Pot size describes the pot only. The same 200mm pot can hold a low groundcover or a young tree, so two plants in the same size pot can look very different.

Pot size is a guide to how established a plant is: the same plant in a larger pot is further along in its growth. Every plant listing has a genuine photo that is representative of the plant you will receive, and the mature size of each plant is on its product page.

Pot sizes

Every drawing below is to the same scale. Sizes are width x height, and the grid lines are 100 mm apart. Dimensions are nominal and vary by a few millimetres between growers.

Pots

Rigid nursery pots, sized by the width across the top in millimetres or by volume in litres.

75 L bag

Hanging baskets

255mm

Size names

Millimetre sizes

The width across the top of the pot or basket. A 200mm pot is 200 mm wide.

Litre sizes

The volume of the pot or bag. A 5 litre pot is about as wide as a 200mm pot and 30 mm taller.

Paired labels

Pots listed as 170mm or 175mm are the same size. So are 300mm and 305mm. Growers label them differently.

Trays

Some groundcovers are sold by the tray. A tray is 350 x 295 mm and 50 mm deep.
