Creeping Fig is one of the most effective wall-covering plants available - it adheres directly to brick, stone, rendered surfaces, and timber by producing tiny adhesive roots along the stems, eventually covering the surface in a dense, fine-textured carpet of small, heart-shaped leaves. Established plants can cover an entire building facade. The early growth is slow while the plant establishes its root system, then accelerates considerably once settled. Full sun to full shade - one of the most light-adaptable climbing plants available. Well-drained soil. Very drought tolerant once established. Important caveat: removing established Creeping Fig from rendered or painted surfaces is extremely difficult and can damage the surface - consider this a permanent planting.
