Mandarin Imperial

The mandarin Perth has grown for generations. Imperial fruits mid-season, producing loose-skinned, easy-to-peel fruit with a classic sweet-tart mandarin flavour. It's the lunchbox mandarin, the school run mandarin, the tree that every Perth family seems to have or want. Productive, reliable, and deeply familiar. Full sun, well-drained soil. Deep watering through summer supports good fruit set. Feed with citrus fertiliser in spring and autumn. Avoid overwatering - Imperial is more susceptible to root rot than some other citrus varieties in heavy or waterlogged soils.
