Raspberry Yellow

Yellow Heritage Raspberry produces sweet, golden fruit in late summer and autumn - the same vigorous, autumn-fruiting character as the red Heritage variety but in an unusual pale gold colour. The flavour is noticeably different to red raspberries: milder, less tart, with a honey-like sweetness that many people find more approachable. The pale colour also makes it significantly less attractive to birds than red-fruited varieties, which can be a practical advantage in Perth gardens where bird pressure on soft fruit is high. Full sun to part shade - some afternoon shade protection in Perth's hotter inland areas. Well-drained, moisture-retentive soil with good organic content. Water consistently. Cut spent canes to the ground after harvest.
