Zygocactus - Hanging Basket

Zygocactus is the Christmas or Easter cactus, a forest-dwelling cactus that grows on tree branches in the wild rather than in desert sand, which is why it wants more water and shade than its desert relatives. It produces vivid flowers in pink, red, white, and orange from the tips of its flattened, segmented stems through the cooler months. It is a long-lived, easy plant for a shaded verandah or a bright indoor spot. Bright indirect light, never hot direct sun. Water when the top of the mix dries, more freely than a desert cactus. Suited to a hanging pot.
