Westringia Aussie Box

Westringia Aussie Box is an excellent native alternative to other box plants, fully equipped to handle our conditions! Perfect for hedges, borders, mass planting, general landscape and it’s great in pots. With mauve flowers throughout spring and summer, and lovely grey-blue foliage, it is well suited to cottage, modern or native gardens alike. Its dense habit can be pruned into a box shape or left in its natural ball shape. Faster establishing than other box plants, it also has excellent drought tolerance and suitable for coastal plantings. For enhanced growth and flowering we recommend using Troforte M Native Slow Release fertiliser. Aussie Box reaches 40-60cm height and width if pruned regularly, or 70-95cm height and width if left to grow naturally.

Water: Water well and often when freshly planted. Drought tolerant once established. Use a chunky mulch, we recommend using Aussie Organics Chunky Pine Bark.

Sun: Full sun to part shade.

Soil: Fertile, well-draining soil enriched with organic matter. We recommend using Aussie Organics Premium Soil Conditioner and Charlie Charcoal prior to planting.
