Aspidistra Elatior

Aspidistra earns its common name of Cast Iron Plant by surviving deep shade, dry air and long stretches of neglect that would finish most houseplants. It builds a clump of broad, upright, dark green leaves that hold their colour in the poorest light. Low to bright indirect light. Any well-drained potting mix. Water when the top of the mix dries. Wipe the leaves to keep them glossy.
