Banksia Praemorsa
Few plants are more deeply associated with the WA landscape than Banksia. The sculptural cones, dramatic flower spikes, and architectural foliage make them distinctive in any garden setting - and they are among the most important food sources for native birds in the South West. In Perth gardens they perform strongly given the right conditions: full sun, sandy or gravelly well-drained soil, and phosphorus-free fertiliser. High phosphorus is toxic to most Proteaceae including Banksia.
