Cissus Ellen Danica
Cissus 'Ellen Danica' is a surprisingly good performer as an indoor plant. Fast growing with dark green, handsome oak-shaped leaves along the softly hairy stems, it wants to grow upwards but will also cascade down. The vine attaches via tendrils and pulls itself towards more light. The foliage is pale bronze-green when young and matures to a deeper green bearing red hairs on their underside. Ellen Danica is a modest climbing or rambling evergreen vine suited to indoors, hanging baskets, along trellises or other sheltered areas. It’s non-invasive and doesn't self-sow. Requiring minimal care, the vine can grow in areas of low to moderate filtered light. For enhanced growth and flowering we recommend using Troforte M Indoor & Patio Slow Release fertiliser. Stephanotis floribunda reaches approximately 1-2m height and similar width.
Water: Water well and often when freshly planted and during warmer seasons. Use a chunky mulch in the garden, we recommend using Aussie Organics Chunky Pine Bark.
Sun: Indoors bright indirect to full sun (North, South or East facing windows). Outdoors in part shade to full shade, some morning sun or dappled positions. Keep out of Westerly facing windows or afternoon sun exposure.
Soil: Indoors, a well-draining, fertile indoor mix. We recommend using The Home Plant Co Indoor Potting Mix. In pots, a well-draining, fertile mix. We recommend using Waldecks Premium Potting Mix. In the garden, moist, well-draining soil enriched with organic matter. We recommend using Aussie Organics Premium Soil Conditioner and Charlie Charcoal prior to planting.
