Dichondra Silver Surfer

Silver Surfer is a trailing selection of Dichondra argentea, the silver-leaved Dichondra, carrying small, round, silver-grey leaves densely along stems that cascade to a metre or more from a hanging basket, the lip of a tall pot or the top of a retaining wall. It also runs as a low groundcover in a well-drained bed. The silver comes from a fine felt on the leaf, which is also what gives the plant its heat and drought tolerance. Full sun to part shade. Well-draining soil or potting mix. Water regularly while establishing, then only through the hottest spells.
