Feijoa Pineapple Guava

One of the most underrated fruiting trees in Perth gardens. Feijoa produces small, green, egg-shaped fruit with a fragrant, tropical flavour that sits somewhere between pineapple, guava, and mint. The tree itself is highly ornamental: silvery-green foliage, stunning red and white flowers in spring that are also edible, and a naturally tidy compact habit. It's drought tolerant, handles Perth's summers with ease, and asks for very little once established. Full sun to part shade, well-drained soil. Very drought tolerant once established. Fruit drops when ripe - harvest from the ground. Self-fertile but produces more heavily with a second plant nearby.
