Gardenia Augusta Florida

One of the most fragrant shrubs in any garden. Gardenias are subtropical and perform well in Perth's warm summers, though they prefer slightly acidic soil and consistent moisture. Full sun. Well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Mulch heavily. Water regularly. Feed with an acid-forming fertiliser. Treat yellowing with iron chelate. Augusta Florida is the classic Perth Gardenia - medium shrub with large, intensely fragrant double white flowers. The standard by which all others are measured.
