Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo is one of the most ancient trees in the world - a living fossil with fossil records stretching back 270 million years, largely unchanged since the age of the dinosaurs. The distinctive fan-shaped leaves with their central notch are immediately recognisable and unlike any other tree in cultivation. Through spring and summer the foliage is a clean, fresh green; in autumn it turns vivid golden-yellow before dropping cleanly - one of the most reliable autumn colour displays available from a Perth garden tree, even in our mild winters. Extremely long-lived and adaptable. Full sun. Well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established. The golden autumn display intensifies with age.
