Lavandula Ladiva Big Night
Lavender is completely at home in Perth's Mediterranean climate. Full sun. Very well-drained soil - waterlogging is the most common cause of death. Sandy Perth soils are ideal. Minimal watering once established. Prune by up to one-third immediately after flowering. Do not cut into bare woody stems. Ladiva Big Night is a cross between Spanish and English lavender, carrying the deep indigo flower spikes and lilac-purple bracts of a Spanish lavender over the smaller, tougher leaves of an English lavender. It was bred for heat tolerance and flowers in its first year.
