Leucophyta Brownii
Commonly known as the silver cushion bush, Leucophyta brownii has been a favourite for native and coastal gardens for a long time. A small rounded bushy shrub with intricate branching, Leucophyta brownii forms a cushion of velvety, silver-grey foliage making the ideal contrast plant. Small yellow flowers cover the shrub in spring and summer. An ideal plant for rockeries, borders, containers and pots, or coastal, native or modern gardens. Drought and salt-spray resistant, there aren’t many other native plants more suited to the local environment. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain compact growth. For enhanced growth and flowering we recommend using Troforte M Native Slow Release fertiliser in spring. Leucophyta brownii grows to 1m height and width.
Water: Water well and often when freshly planted. Drought tolerant once established, although does enjoy a good drink during hot spells.
Sun: Full sun.
Soil: Fertile, well-draining soil enriched with organic matter. We recommend using Aussie Organics Premium Soil Conditioner and Charlie Charcoal prior to planting.
