Ligularia Dentata

Ligularia Dentata is a dramatic, large-leaved shade perennial producing bold kidney-shaped leaves up to 30cm across on long stalks, with vivid golden-yellow daisy flowers on tall stems in summer. The scale of the foliage is what makes it extraordinary - in a deep shade position under trees or in a sheltered courtyard, a mature clump becomes a genuinely impressive structural plant. It wilts dramatically in heat and direct sun - sometimes almost collapsing - but recovers fully once it cools or is watered. This wilting is normal and not a sign of failure. Part to full shade. Consistently moist soil. Water generously through summer. Will not tolerate dry soil.
