Dense, dark green or variegated tufting perennials producing spikes of small purple or white flowers in late summer and autumn. Liriope is one of the most practical edging and mass planting plants available - tolerates deep shade, moderate drought, and is useful in the difficult positions under trees and along pathways where other plants struggle. Part shade to full shade - one of the better performers in deep shade. Well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established. Clip back to ground level in late winter every 2-3 years to refresh.
