Philodendron Imperial Red
Philodendrons are the workhorses of the indoor plant world - tough, adaptable, forgiving, and available in an extraordinary range of forms from compact tabletop plants to large architectural specimens. Native to tropical Central and South America, they have evolved on the forest floor where light is filtered and variable - meaning they grow faster and look better in bright indirect light. Bright indirect light. Water when the top third of the soil is dry. Do not sit in water. Well-draining indoor potting mix. Feed monthly with a liquid fertiliser during spring and summer. All Philodendron parts are toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Imperial Red is Philodendron erubescens, a compact, non-vining plant whose glossy leaves open deep red and mature to bronze-green.
