Plant Runner Aroid Plant Food

A liquid feed built for aroids: monstera, philodendron, anthurium, alocasia, rhaphidophora, syngonium, pothos and scindapsus. It also suits most leafy indoor plants kept on a steady feeding routine.

The nitrogen is nitrate-based and urea-free. Urea has to be converted by soil microbes before a plant can use it, and a chunky bark-based aroid mix carries few microbes to do that, so a nitrate feed gets to the roots in a form they take up straight away. Phosphorus is kept low so the feed goes into leaf and root growth, with added calcium and magnesium. The trace elements are chelated, which keeps them available in a coarse mix and in the slightly alkaline tap water most Australian cities have.

• 100ml concentrate, which makes 50 litres of feed
• NPK 4.5-1-3, with calcium 3.08% and magnesium 0.95%
• Chelated iron, manganese, copper, zinc, boron and molybdenum

Shake before use. Mix 2ml per litre of water and feed every second watering while the plant is putting out new leaves. When growth slows in the cooler months, feed every third or fourth watering, or drop to 1ml per litre. Water through until it drains freely from the pot. Store out of direct sun.
