Pomegranate - Mollar de Elche
A great pomegranate for juicing or as fresh fruit with very sweet, tender jewels, this is the most popular and wildly grown pomegranate in Spain. Medium sized and deciduous, fruits are harvested from March to May. Drought tolerant in the garden, best fruit comes from deep regular waterings during summer. Can be pruned to a smaller shape. For enhanced growth and fruiting we recommend using Troforte M Fruit & Citrus Slow Release fertiliser. Mollar de Elche pomegranate will grow to reach 4-5m height and 3-4m width.
Water: Water well and often when freshly planted and during warmer seasons. Use a chunky mulch, we recommend using Aussie Organics Chunky Pine Bark.
Sun: Full sun to part shade.
Soil: Fertile, well-draining soil enriched with organic matter. We recommend using Aussie Organics Premium Soil Conditioner and Charlie Charcoal prior to planting.
