Pride of Madeira is a large, dramatic shrub producing spectacular tall spires of vivid blue-purple flowers in spring - one of the most architectural flowering shrubs available. It comes from the Canary Islands and thrives in Perth's Mediterranean climate. Full sun. Well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established. Can grow large - allow 2-3m. Cut flower spikes back after flowering.
