Shell Ginger - Alpinia Zerumbet Variegata

Variegated Shell Ginger is one of the most dramatic foliage plants for Perth gardens - the large, paddle-shaped leaves are boldly striped in cream and green. The shell-shaped, fragrant cream flowers with yellow and red markings appear in summer. Full shade. Moisture-retentive soil. Water generously through summer. Shelter from cold and strong wind.
