Strelitzia Reginae

Strelitzia reginae, the Bird of Paradise, builds a dense clump of upright grey-green paddle leaves and sends up its famous crane-shaped flowers in orange and blue on established plants. It is grown as much for the bold, structural foliage as for the flowers, and takes full sun outdoors in Perth or a bright indoor position. Full sun to bright indirect light. Well-drained soil. Water regularly through summer, less in winter. Drought tolerant once established.
