Dichondra Silver Falls
Silver Falls Dichondra produces a cascading curtain of small, perfectly round silver-white leaves on trailing stems that is unlike almost any other trailing plant - the silver is genuine and vivid, each leaf reflecting light with a metallic quality. From a hanging basket the stems cascade to 1.5m or more, creating a waterfall of silver that is visible from a distance. Also outstanding spilling over retaining walls and raised garden beds. It is Dichondra argentea, a different species to the green Dichondras and native to desert country in the American southwest, which is where its heat and drought tolerance come from. Set against Emerald Falls it is the longer and looser of the two, running well past a metre instead of filling the pot. Part to full shade. Well-draining soil or potting mix. Water regularly.
