Saxifraga Alpino Rose

Mossy saxifrage forms a low, dense cushion of fine green foliage and covers itself in small flowers held just above it, one of the earliest perennials to bloom. It is an alpine at heart and does best in Perth with morning sun or dappled shade and steady moisture, in a pot, trough or shaded edge rather than a hot open bed. Well-drained soil that never dries out fully. Trim spent stems after flowering.
